This past Shabbat the Kehilla held its Annual Shabbaton and its 24th Annual Melaveh Malkah, with Dr. David Lieberman as our guest speaker. B”H the Shabbat was beautiful.
The Friday night Se’udah was at capacity with about 155 participants. The food was B”H plentiful and delicious, and featured delicacies prepared by Shimon Ben Abu, Moshe Gatenyo and many of the ladies in our Kehilla. The tables were set beautifully as well. Dr. Lieberman’s first Shiur of the Shabbat was titled “If G-d Was Your Therapist.” Dr. Lieberman was extremely engaging. For all of his lectures he opened the floor to those in attendance to ask questions and share comments. As a result, the lectures were very exciting and interactive.
The Shabbat morning Se’udah was B”H also very full. For the afternoon Shiur Dr. Lieberman spoke of Shalom Bayit. Once again, those in attendance enjoyed the Shiur tremendously.
A greatly enhanced Se’udah Shilisheet was followed by Arvit, Havdalah and the rush to prepare the Ateret Chaya Simcha Hall for the Melaveh Malkah. B”H in all ways, the Melaveh Malkah itself was amazing: the tables, the attendance, the food and the speaker. Dr. Lieberman discussed having successful relationships with difficult people, and his message was exceedingly meaningful. B”H it was a truly enjoyable evening for all of those who attended, as attested by the fact that many stayed beyond Birkat HaMazon to talk and socialize.
Behind the scenes, B”H this Shabbaton saw a marked increase in volunteer participation. As well, organizationally speaking, the preparations for this Shabbaton B”H flowed more easily. There are many individuals who must be thanked.
The Kehilla must thank our good friends Gil Gold and Tamir Levy for their kindness. As well, special thanks to Doron Levy and BBJ Linen for generously providing the beautiful linens for the Shabbaton. Tizku LiMItzvot!
