BiSiman Tov and Mazal Tov

The entire community wishes a sincere Mazal Tov to Rabbi and Rabbanit Daniel Raccah upon the marriage of their son.  Mazal Tov to the Chatan and Kallah Mordechai Nissim and Shaine Raccah as well.  May they merit to build a Bayit Ne’eman BiYisrael. Mazal Tov and welcome to the parents of the Kallah,  Rabbi and Mrs. Kaye.  Weather permitting, we will also have the honor of the presence of Shaine’s grandparents, Rabbi and Rabanit Shlomo Diamond, a celebrated Rav in the Syrian community of NJ. Welcome to the extended Kaye family of brothers and sisters!  Welcome to Aunts and Uncles and Cousins who came to celebrate the Shabbat Chatan with all of us.

 Rabbi and Rabbanit Raccah invite the Kehilla to a Shabbat Chatan Kiddush after the davening.

  Women’s Shiur

 The women’s shiur will take place this Motza’ei Shabbat, January 14th at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Jenny Nadoff, 2937 W. Chase.  The speaker will be Mr. David Nadoff on the topic “Updating History: Re-contextualizing the Holidays.”  This shiur will be dedicated l’ilui nishmat Dr. Grant Mitchell, Gedalya Reuven Levi ben Yerachmiel Dovid z”l for his upcoming yahrzeit on the 24th of Tevet.  

Misilat Yisharim Shiur – The next Misilat Yisharim Shiur will take place this coming Wednesday, January 18th, 2012.

Fast of Asarah Bi’Tevet Tomorrow – The fast begins Thursday morning at 6:20am (according to Sephardic authorities) and ends at 5:23pm.

May they merit to build a Bayit Ne’eman BiYisrael. BE”H they will be back and celebrating a Shabbat Chatan for the new couple next Shabbat, Parashat Shimot at Ohel Shalom.

Pidyon Ha’Ben of Yitzchak Yosef Alvayor – The community is invited to the Pidyon Ha’Ben of Yitzchak Yosef Alvayor, son of Pessy and Elliot Alvayor on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Sephardic Congregation on Howard, following Shacharit at about 8:15 a.m.

The Chanukah Party is BE”H scheduled for THIS Motza’ai Shabbat, December 24, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. in the Ateret Chaya Simcha Hall.    Mazal Tov to Yitzchak Yosef Alvayor for entering into the birit of Avraham Avinu.  Mazal tov to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elliot Alvayor.  May you merit to raise him to Torah, Mitzvot, Chupah and Ma’asim Tovim!   Mazal Tov to Yonatan and Eden Berdugo on their recent marriage. May you build a Bayit Ne’eman Be’Yisroel.

Mazal Tov to Mr. and Mrs. Elliot Alvayor on the birth of a baby boy on Dec. 11th.  May you merit to have him enter the birit of Avraham Avinu at its appointed time and raise him to Torah, Mitzvot, Chupah and Ma’asim Tovim!

Mazal Tov and BiSiman Tov to Mr. and Mrs. Yigal Zino on the birth of a baby boy!!!  THIS Friday night, December 2nd, 2011 BE”H there will be a Oneg Shabbat at Rabbi and Rabbanit Raccah’s residence  7400 N. Albany Ave., Chicago. at 8:00 p.m. The personality which will be the subject of this Oneg Shabbat will BE”H be Rav Yosef Chaim, the Ben Ish Chai.;  The first session of the Refresher Course will BE”H be this Motza’ai Shabbat, December 3rd, entitled “Growing Closer through Separation” from 8-10 pm at Ohel Shalom Torah Center.
